CivTech® 4 has launched. And we are in it!
Deblur has won a place on the Scottish Government’s CivTech® Accelerator programme. This prestigious programme harnesses entrepreneurial technological innovation, typically from start-ups and SMEs, to solve public sector challenges. To date, the scheme has helped to create 94 jobs and led to participants winning over £8.5 million in contracts.
We are working on the challenge from Transport Scotland:
How can we use Technology to help enforce a potential Blue Badge holder exemption from Low Emission Zones in Scotland?
Scotland’s biggest cities (Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh & Glasgow) are considering introducing Low Emission Zones to improve air quality. Older vehicles that emit too much pollution will be charged to enter these city centres. As this might have a negative impact on Blue Badge holders, we are investigating how we can exempt them from these charges, even if they are in another person’s car.
Deblur is currently talking with Disability groups and Blue Badge holders so we can make our solution as helpful as possible. For example, this might include help with finding disabled parking. If you would like to get involved please contact us.
